With Maloney Lasik, a small layer of tissue is folded back from the surface of the cornea. After the Lasik surgery reshapes the cornea, the tissue is folded back into place, where it bonds rapidly. With Dr. Robert Maloney, we use an advanced, VISX S4 eye-tracking lasik laser-flying spot laser that produces an extremely smooth procedure. This three-minute lasik process requires no needles and no stitches. LASIK can be used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. This simple, non-laser procedure, requires no tissue removal. Conductive Keratoplasty can notably improve eyesight in patients who are good candidates for this procedure. People with extreme nearsightedness or farsightedness may not be suitable candidates for LASIK, but may benefit from a Verisyse lens, which is a special contact lens that is implanted behind the cornea.
